Serve Day provides opportunities for anyone in the Pittsburgh region to make a difference in our communities. You can serve by getting involved with a project at your campus. We’ll have lots of different projects, so anyone can participate.

Foster Love Project is one of our partners at Allison Park Church who provides tremendous resources not only to APC's foster + adoptive families, but families all throughout Pittsburgh. They are hosting a Family Support Weekend foster + adoptive children and parents on July 6th, and have asked us to provide a team of volunteers who would be willing to do activities / play games with the kids while the parents receive training + teaching.

We will kick-off our weekend goal of packaging 175,000 meals through Meals of Hope with a Friday night meal packaging session for RED students + young adults! All meals packaged this weekend will stay local and go to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Help us continue to repair and clean-up Revival Church International's church location on the North Side! This project will include lots of painting, general clean-up, some more specialized repair tasks, and some possible outdoor landscaping. Any and all are welcome to participate!

Saturday | 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Assemble 50-100 'Love Boxes' (from Embrace Grace), pray over, and donate them to local pregnancy centers. These boxes are gifted to single young women who may be considering abortion. Each box has a personal invitation to a church-hosted Embrace Grace support group, a hand-written letter of hope, a journal with writing prompts, a ‘Best Gift Ever’ onesie, and A Bump in Life book that includes testimonies that offer single and pregnant moms hope. This project will happen in conjunction with The Nest project.
Women’s Choice Network North Side (425 East Ohio Street Pittsburgh, PA)

In conjunction with the 'Love Box' project, we will also have a team volunteer at 'The Nest', which is the Women's Choice Network's resource center storefront in the North Side. Our team will help unpack, sort, fold + tag clothing, clean parts of the interior and exterior, and do whatever else is needed at their store. This project will conclude with a tour of the Women's Choice Network facility and what they do.

We will serve a Treasured Kids family with some NEEDED projects around their home, which includes construction work inside the home + drainage and landscaping needs around the foundation. General construction knowledge helpful.

We will serve a Treasured Kids family with some NEEDED interior and exterior work around their home. Some of their needs include pressure-washing, exterior door + trim repair, caulking exterior doors + windows, and more. General construction knowledge helpful.

Saturday | 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
We will serve at the Refuge for Women safehouse doing some exterior projects at their facility: exterior building cleaning, landscaping, gardening, etc. We will also send 2-3 women inside to interact with and cook a meal for the women. Open to both men and women. Some additional clearances and training required to participate.

BUTLER CAMPUS
Saturday, July 13th

Saturday | 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
We will be providing shoes for 650 children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, distributing 35,000 pounds of food, offering lunch for over 1000 individuals, hosting a kids' area with various activities, and offering prayers for anyone who desires it. While the main event will occur on Saturday, meal packing will take place during the week leading up to July 13. Volunteers are needed to pack boxes, cook food, help children with shoes, engage in carnival games with them, distribute food, and assist with parking.

NORTH SIDE CAMPUS

We will be partnering with Allison Park Church - Northside Food Bank to box up 200 + boxes of nonperishable food items. We will fill a box truck with the boxes and head over to Northview Heights where we will drive around and hand out the boxes to the community of Northview Heights! This is a perfect opportunity for those who are looking to serve our community on a more intimate level! We will also have a few cleaning supplies in case you feel led to brush off someone's porch, help pick up trash in the yard, etc.

We will be hanging out at a local park in Manchester, Northside, handing out free water, gatorade, push pops, and ice cream. We will have a Back to School Backpack Drive set up for families in the area to come and get free backpacks filled with school supplies. This is going to be such a fun time with hangout stations set up, music going, and conversations flowing!
