Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their hurts, habits and hang-ups. Based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory, our recovery program is unique, and more effective in helping people change than anything else out there. Over the years the Holy Spirit has used this program to transform literally hundreds of lives at Allison Park Church and help people grow toward full Christlike maturity.

Celebrate Recovery is based on God’s Word, is forward-looking, emphasizes personal responsibility and spiritual commitment to Jesus Christ. CR addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups and utilizes the biblical truth that we need each other in order to grow spiritually and emotionally.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY’S EIGHT RECOVERY PRINCIPLES
The Road to Recovery Based on the Beatitudes (R-E-C-O-V-E-R-Y)

R - Realize I’m not God; I admit that I'm powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing & that my life is unmanageable. (Step 1) “Happy are those who know that they are spiritually poor.”
E - Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2) “Happy are those how mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
C - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. (Step 3)
“Happy are the meek.”
O - Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. (Steps 4 and 5) “Happy are the pure in heart.”
V - Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. (Steps 6 and 7) “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires”
E - Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and 9) “Happy are the merciful.” “Happy are the peacemakers”
R - Reserve a time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will. (Steps 10 and 11)
Y - Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words. (Step 12) “Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.”

Worship Nites [Summer Series]

Recurring Event
When: 9/1/2010 7:00:00 PM
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Where: 2326 Duncan Ave.

This Changes Everything: Over the next few weekends we are going to study some of the most life transforming truths in the Scripture - the amazing declarations of Romans chapter 8.

When we get a hold of the realities that are described in this passage - and truly believe them - our entire world can change. This may sound like hype. But its not. Romans 8 declares for us the wonders of the greatest news on earth. That's why we call it the GOSPEL.

August 14 & 15: Jeff Leake -- God Accepts Me (through Christ)
August 21 & 22: Chris Griffin -- God Adopts Me
August 28 & 29: Cullen Allen -- God Empowers Me // Water Baptism
September 4 & 5: Jeff Leake -- God Will Never Stop Loving Me

We're praying that the 'light comes on' in our spirits over the next few weeks as to dig deeper into these amazing truths.

This Changes Everything [Sermon Series]

Recurring Event
When: 9/5/2010 9:30:00 AM
Time: 9:30 am - 10:45 am
Where: 2326 Duncan Ave.
